I am using an Instron testing instrument and have repeated problems with tensile slippage. We have purchased new steel grips and clean them daily. I have tried several different methods of "wrapping" the tensile ends (sandpaper, duct tape, even steel epoxy). Help!

I am in year 8 in an Australian high school. This teacher which is usually quite fair and she is an extremely good teacher has just put me on a behavioral contract. If you don't know what this is, it is a contract which you must hand to your homeroom teacher and the teacher who issued it to sign it to see whether the Childs behavior has been good, and if it isn't (as in if the child does the tiniest thing wrong) then the school is entitled to give this student a very harsh punishment (usually Friday night detentions). These contracts are very hard to get and only the naughtiest gets them, yet I landed myself one. I am a very competent student that talks very rarely and has only ever gotten one detention in my two years at this school. The punishment that comes along with getting the contract (which is 5 yard pick ups during lunch) I will take fine, but not the contract, the only person in my cl to get one was caught smoking out the front of the school at lunch and then I got one for talking like twice along with one other who is also a very good student. I need some ideas to get off this contract or a way to approach the teacher about why she did this. She is a very strict teacher usually very fair. Thankyou vey much in advance.

Sure some are ok, but none of them are anything special, and a used Fender will retain its value. I would search for a used MIM Fender strat. MIM stands for Made in Mexico. Or, you can try and find a used MIJ (made in Japan) Fender strat. You won't need to swap out the pickups on these either.

Trick is getting 2 corners in first then shaking it like crazy. Find the opening on the duvet, put two corners of the quilt on the opposite sides of the cover grab them from the outside, stand on the bed, and shake the other half so the duvet slides over the other half. Confused about start date for birth control (i asked this before but there was a pretty critical typo lol)?

was prescribed Tri-Cyclen Lo, and was told to do the Sunday after period start. I'm supposed to start my period on December 24th, so I would end up taking the first Pill on December 28. However, if I do that, then I'll be on the inactive pills by January 18th, and my period SHOULD be January 24th(I'm very regular). Is the Pill SUPPOSED to change the day you start your period? I have dyed black hair and i want to go blonde?

Okay so i have been dying my hair dark for about 2 years now, (i am naturally dark blonde) its been dyed dark red to black. After having dark hair for such a long time i really want nice blonde hair for in the summer time, so i told my mum about it and i said how i would have to bleach it and everything and then leave it the bleached colour for a few days, and then dye it to the blonde i want. So i went to the shop and got a powder bleach with a 40 volume peroxide and i cut some of my hair out and did a tester (my mum wont let me do it without a tester) i left the bleach on for 90 minutes (time it said on the box) and my dark hair went to a light blonde/gingery colour, which i am happy with because after leaving my hair that colour for a few days i can dye it a nice blonde. The tester hair was also still in good condition and wasnt straw like or anything.. but now my mum said shes too worried it will burn my scalp or my hair will fall out.. do u think it will burn or fall out? i really wanted to be blonde and now i need to convince her that it will be okay.. any help anyone? :/

My cat is really weird?

okay. so i rescued my cat Stinky from a shelter about a year back. at the time he was about 8 months old. he was really skinny and couldn't walk straight for his life! and he always seemed off balance or dizzy (kind of like he was drunk or something) also when he ran, he would abruptly stop and skid into a wall, or sometimes just turn around and not see the wall corner he bumped into. i thought he was just a clumsy kitten, and figured he would grow out of it eventually. but he still has the same problems! and if he's alone in a room for about 10 minutes, he starts meowing in this deep voice that goes up in octave. like mraaOOW. :) i honestly have no idea why he does this, we think he might have some sort of mental retardation or neurologic problems. if anyone knows anything, please let me know!

the only thing i know of is to make sure he's not eating too much at one time. sometimes babies that age tend to eat too much because they don't know they are full and then spit up afterwards. also, he could have acid reflux. my baby had that around that age and i just made sure not to feed her alot of formula at one time and to keep her sitting upward when feeding her. also, don't let him down to play or lay down until at least 5 to 10 minutes after he eats so he has time for his formula to start digesting.

Nope. The limitation you have discovered is typical. I ume you are placing a central round block on the condenser lens. I have used this same method as a demonstration in a college cl I have taught for years. As you said, this allows enough light to come through around the edges of the condenser lens to produce a pseudo-dark field effect. But to get enough light properly focused at high magnification you need a dark field condenser, a sort of prism designed for that purpose.

Both stories sound pretty interesting. I don't know if they are my cup of tea, but for their genre(which I don't know what theirs are...) they sound pretty good. Filled with thrill. Make sure, before you fully write you stories, research all that you can on the Islam religion and culture so that your story seems genuine and not "a muslim guy goes to america". Does that make sense? Also, research on FBI conversations. I know you're a guy, but Miss Congeniality. If you've never heard of it (totally understandable, but I'm using it for lack of a better example), think of the conversations in that movie. The characters in the FBI are very respectful, always replying with "Sir, ..." and they are very firm and stern. Make sure your FBI character, although secondary, seem credible in your story. Remember to use strong verbs and descriptive words (adj. and adv.) in your story to keep the reader interested and your thriller novel animated!

1994 Ford Bronco 4x4 with 5.0 wont start?

Here is what is going on. I can crank over my bronco all day and it will not start. During the first few cranks it almost started but doesn't. I have checked and I know that I am getting spark. I can get the Bronco started with starter fluid. When it does start it will run without any problems. If I turn the engine off before it is hot, it will start again. But if I turn it off after the engine is hot, then I need to use started fluid to get it started again. I have already changed out the fuel filter. I have some people telling me that it is the fuel pump but I was wondering if it could be something different because a fuel pump is expensive and a pain to change. I have about 3/4 a tank right now. When I turn the ignition I can hear the fuel pump buzzing but it sounds abnormally loud. Please help.

How do I explain this? I am very confused about this guy at work, I have always been weary of him, like I get a bad vibe about him. He is very forward, and talks like he is some kind of drill sergeant. This guy started about 2 years ago. When we had our boss before, he was considered an equal like the rest of us. Everyone liked this boss except for him. Most of us have been there for years, so he is still really new. When our boss left, the manager had to take over. He would would ask me five times a day if I was done or what the status was. I had no problem making shipments before, and have be told I am a good worker. When the manager came back, he took credit for all the work everyone did. Now he is the manager's pet! The manager is giving him more and more power. This guy is so power hungry that he will step on anyone who tries to disagree. I have over heard him kicking back in the manager's office and talking bad about people. We are all fearing that the manager will make him a supervisor. I fear for my job, because he knows I have a problem with him. I try to keep it to my self as much as I can, but I can't take it anymore. This guy is stressing me out so bad. I have pulled him aside and told him to leave me alone. Electoral votes are used instead of popular vote because we are the 'united states' Technically not really a country as much as a unit of dynamic states sharing the same banner. a lot of states would never want to give up what little power they have, that is why the electors vote the same, because it gives a state more pull, or attention even. If you have a state with 50 electoral votes, would candidates go to your state if you voted 30-20 against them, or 50-0 against them, chances are they wouldn't really care so much unless it was all or nothing. It would have been great except for watching Gatti. That really turned my stomach to watch one of the all-time warriors go out like that. I was so depressed I slept with one of my guy friends who I have crush on and told her (she even encouraged me to do so cause she knew I'm not meant to be with girl and I can have a boyfriend), she got pis$ed off and looked up online for complete stranger to sleep with and she did then never contact him ever again. She kept that as secret for a month then told me on the day she threatened to break up with me, and I said sure go on break up then she got super upset. (she expected me to feel bad and beg not to break up but actually i want to break up the whole time but couldn't tell her) Also I was deeply hurt that she slept with a complete stranger in my house while I'm gone at work few blocks away. After that I decided to be committed to her and to make this relationship to work out so I can handle living with her until my lease is over a year later then I'll leave her. Every week things just got worse and I stopped eating and taking care of myself and cleaning my apt due to constant anxiety and worries about her. I'm not allowed to go out some days to see friends earlier but allows if she feels like it. So far she encourages me to go out with friends and visit my mom cause I complained of being too lonely, I was doubtful that if its a set up but did so. Always when I come home she will ask me what i was doing and yell at me right away or few days later and accuse me of having with my guy friends or "cry to my mommy about how bad she was" or backstab to friends about her. She started to withhold my car keys and phone or block door when I want to go out to escape her.
