Can i use java fern for breeding so the fry can hide?

Okay so i am gonna breed serpae tetra and i want to have some plants so they fry hide from there parents i already have plants but they're fake and i really want some real plants and i was thinking using java moss but when i saw the java fern it was amazing but i don't know if it's good for breeding like the java moss so can anyone tell me if i can use it for breeding and if it will be as good as the java moss
