Do you think its ok if I told my teacher that her directions were somewhat unclear because of this?

My teacher sent us an e-mail that read "For each sentence please identify the sentence core or cores, and for each sentence core, please underline the subject once and the verb twice." So I've already underlined the subject once and the verb twice but it sounds like she's giving a second step by saying "identify the sentence core", doesn't it? When I look up sentence core, however, it means subject + verb
